Henderson family papers, 1799-1887.

Papers of the Henderson family consist of financial and legal records pertaining to business transactions in and around Natchez, Miss. They include bills and receipts for merchandise and services, land documents, stock certificates, and a small account book (1875). Land documents relate to the mortgage and sale of land, and include a land grant for acreage in Ouachita, La. (June 20, 1837). Papers also include land plats (undated) and documents pertaining to the sale of slaves (March 10, 1828, March 11, 1845, Oct. 20, 1846, Dec. 7, 1852, June 22, 1857). Civil War papers concern land and business transactions during the war.
